The General Council of the Japan Assemblies of God (JAG) was established in 1949. Today, people worship in over 200 churches in Japan. The Assemblies of God has 28 million members in 128 countries in worldwide as of 1991. Also, JAG has a cooperative working relationship with other denominations as the member of Japan Evangelical Association. "Assemblies of God" means of course "gathering people who are called by God."
